How It Works
Dry silica powder is fed into the first mixing chamber via a sealed screw feeder, while modifiers — primarily silane coupling agents, the industry standard for silica hydrophobization, with optional stearic acid — are metered synchronously by precision dosing pumps. Three serial triangular-staggered rotors generate cross-directional turbulent vortex flow, fully dispersing spray-dried hard agglomerates under repeated shear and collision. Particle-on-rotor friction generates mild, stable heat that activates and evenly distributes coating agents, enabling full contact between modifiers and silica surface silanol groups for uniform hydrophobic modification while preserving the original BET surface area and primary aggregate structure. The entire system runs under full negative pressure to prevent dust leakage — critical for ultra-light silica powder. Modified silica is conveyed to cyclone separators and bag collectors, and the unit can be directly integrated with upstream de-agglomeration and drying equipment without intermediate silos, forming a closed-loop line with consistent batch quality and stable reinforcing performance for tire rubber, silicone rubber, coatings and plastic additives.
