Advanced Dry Grinding & Classification Solutions for NCM Ternary Cathode Materials
We deliver complete processing lines for calcined NCM (Nickel Cobalt Manganese) ternary powder, covering primary crushing, agglomerate dispersion, ultrafine grinding and precision classification. The whole system supports single-crystal, medium-nickel and high-nickel NCM production, equipped with optional nitrogen closed-circuit anti-oxidation design. Matching air classifier mills, fluidized bed jet mills, spiral jet mills and independent classifiers, it realizes stable micron-scale particle control for power battery, energy storage and consumer electronics ternary cathode manufacturing.
Dry Ultrafine Grinding
Air classifier mills, fluidized bed jet mills and spiral jet mills realize targeted grinding for all NCM grades. The process gently breaks soft calcined agglomerates while retaining complete primary particle structure, adjustable D50 from 1μm to 20μm. Optional full ceramic lining cuts metal impurity content to ppm level, meeting ultra-high purity standards of high-nickel ternary cathode materials.
Precision Air Classification
Independent vertical & horizontal air classifiers cooperate with grinding equipment to form closed-loop production. Sharp cut point strictly controls Dmax below 15μm for high-nickel NCM, batch-to-batch PSD consistency guaranteed. Real-time particle size monitoring stabilizes finished powder indicators to meet strict power battery ternary cathode specifications.
Low-Contamination Powder Conveying
Fully sealed negative pressure conveying pipelines lined with alumina ceramic or PU eliminate secondary metal abrasion. Closed pipeline avoids NCM powder moisture absorption and surface oxidation, matching nitrogen inert atmosphere production lines, fully complying with lithium ternary material cleanliness standards.
Intelligent Closed-Loop Quality Control
Online particle size detection + automatic regrinding loop automatically returns oversize NCM particles for reprocessing. All production parameters are traceable, realizing full digital quality management for single-crystal and high-nickel ternary cathode mass production.

Air Classifier Mill|Integrated Grinding & Classification for NCM Ternary Materials
Integrated single-unit equipment combining impact crushing and built-in turbine classification. Optimized for medium-fineness mass production of medium-nickel & conventional polycrystalline NCM, D50 adjustable 6–15μm, stable Dmax control. High throughput, small footprint, low comprehensive operating cost for large-scale ternary cathode factories.
Integrated Grinding & Classification
Air Classifier Mill integrates impact rotor and built-in turbine classifier without external matching classifiers. It efficiently disperses soft agglomerates formed after NCM calcination with minimal primary particle breakage. Oversize particles fall back for regrinding inside the unit, closed-circuit design cuts plant area and auxiliary piping investment for ternary production lines.
On-Line Particle Size Adjustment
Turbine wheel frequency conversion speed regulation allows real-time D50 & Dmax adjustment without shutdown, adapting flexible production switching between multiple NCM grades (NCM523/NCM622/NCM811).
Water-Cooled Temperature Stabilization
Optional water jacket for grinding chamber dissipates friction heat, lower operating temperature suppresses high-nickel NCM surface oxidation and electrostatic re-agglomeration, keeping stable powder morphology and electrochemical performance.
Ceramic Lining for Low Metal Contamination
Full ceramic lining for rotor, liner and classifier wheel reduces metal abrasion pollution to ppm grade, meets ultra-high purity requirements of power-grade NCM ternary materials.

Application Limitations
Not suitable for ultrafine single-crystal high-nickel NCM requiring D50 below 3μm; for ultra-fine specifications, fluidized bed jet mill delivers better fineness and narrower PSD performance.

Fluidized bed opposed jet mill adopts particle self-collision grinding principle without medium contact. Specially developed for high-purity single-crystal & high-nickel NCM ternary materials, D50 adjustable 2–8μm, Dmax strictly controlled under 12μm, ideal for high-end power battery cathode production.
Low Contamination Particle-on-Particle Grinding
Supersonic opposed nozzles accelerate NCM particles to collide mutually instead of hitting metal walls, metal abrasion pollution minimized, fully meet the ultra-high purity demand of single-crystal high-nickel ternary materials.
Controllable Ultrafine Particle Size

Natural Low-Temperature Grinding

Application Limitations
Higher compressed air consumption, not economical for large tonnage conventional polycrystalline NCM mass production; medium-fineness scenarios prefer air classifier mill for lower running cost.

Spiral Jet Mill|Compact R&D & Small-Batch NCM Grinding Equipment
Spiral jet mill with flat disc grinding cavity, few rotating components, easy disassembly and thorough cleaning. Suitable for lab R&D, frequent material switching and small-batch trial production of all NCM grades, D50 adjustable 1–10μm, low initial investment.
High Cost Performance for Small Batch Production
Simple spiral vortex structure with only classifier wheel as moving part, low spare parts cost. Within D50 2–10μm small-batch test range, it achieves stable grinding effect with lower air consumption compared to fluidized bed jet mill.
Natural Low-Temperature Grinding

Independent Air Classifier|Precision Size Sorting for NCM Ternary Powder
This unit only undertakes particle classification without grinding function, and needs to form a closed-loop production line matched with all types of dry grinding equipment. Two structural types are available: vertical for large throughput and horizontal for ultra-precise cutting. It can strictly screen out oversized particles to meet the production requirements of high-nickel single-crystal NCM powder.
Sharp Cut-Point & Narrow PSD
High-speed turbine wheel generates strong centrifugal field. Eligible fine powder passes through gaps, while oversized particles are thrown back for regrinding, eliminating batch fluctuations of ternary cathode powder particle size.
On-Line Particle Size Adjustment
Turbine speed is regulated by frequency converter without shutdown, enabling flexible switching of Dmax control standards for multiple NCM grades.
Closed-Circuit System Efficiency Boost
Oversized NCM materials are recycled in real time to avoid over-grinding of fine powder, reducing power consumption and improving overall yield compared with open grinding lines.
Ceramic Lining for Low Metal Contamination

High-Speed Mixing Modification Machine|Surface Coating & Composite Equipment for NCM Ternary Powder
Horizontal and vertical dual structural options. It relies on high-speed mixing impact to realize uniform surface coating and particle composite modification of calcined NCM powder, improving tap density and cycle stability of finished cathode materials. Optional water cooling jacket to control mixing temperature, effectively suppress oxidation of high-nickel materials during modification.
Uniform Nano Coating & Particle Compositing
Alternating-angle high-speed blades produce continuous extrusion and alternating impact force. Soft agglomerates of NCM are fully dispersed, and coating additives are evenly wrapped on particle surfaces to form complete nano-modified layers.
Controllable Mixing Temperature with Water Cooling
Water jacket can be installed on the mixing chamber as an option to dissipate frictional heat generated by high-speed collision, avoid thermal deterioration and surface oxidation of sensitive high-nickel NCM during coating processing.
Low Metal Pollution Ceramic Structure
